Fellow BLCC members: this was passed on to us by the local Lake Stewardship chapter and may be interesting to some. King Co. Dept. of Natural Resources and Parks has teamed up with the Snohomish Conservation District to present a repeat of a series of classes around Sustainable Lawn Care, free of charge. Included here are some details of the remaining classes of the series, a link to a previously recorded class of the one that has already occurred, and some other links that may be of interest.
There were three scheduled classes to be conducted this year.
The first is passed, but the linked recording could catch you up!
Jan. 25, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Starting from Scratch: Tips for designing a sustainable landscape
Thinking about transforming your yard this year? Not sure how to get started, or what you need to consider? This introductory class walks you through the steps to plan and design a landscape you will enjoy.
SInce this is past, consider this link as a replacement: You Tube: Starting from Scratch.
The second and third classes are in February and March. They are in-person and are held at the Brightwater Treatment Center, just north of the Woodinville Wine District (perhaps a good place to stop after class!) Again, these classes are free, though you may need to register for them on the respective pages.
Feb. 22, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
