The board is working on a Letter to the Community, the entire watershed community, to encourage engagement in the BLCC.
Spookeasy Review: the event was given very high marks for attendance, quality of the music, food and drinks, and photobooth. The pictures can be found here.
We will plan to host a similar event on October 25, 2025, Party improvement ideas included lighting in the parking lot, and more time spent in cleanup to prevent a repeat of the reprimand that the city levied.
A suggestion was floated to use this event as our primary annual fundraising effort. This will require working with the city to optimize rules that we were subjected to this year. We will also attempt to improve the terms by which BLCC is able to use the lodge for our events.
A draft of the club Operating Manual was submitted.
Holiday Party Planning: a budget was approved for food and drink, and Qdoba was chosen as the primary source of food. We will attempt to eliminate more single-use items than in recent parties. An invitation letter will be delivered to lake residents. We will have the venue from 5pm-9:30, with the party itself between 6:30-8:30.
It was suggested that we embrace more website content change. Perhaps more administration would be productive.
Additional member events were penciled in:
- February: invite a speaker from outside the membership. Ideas: the mayor? Cisco Morris? A Chef cooking demonstration.
- May: a social event of some sort. Ideas: forthcoming.
As always, we encourage our membership to contribute ideas and help with our events!
